Prevention

Who are we?

Feuxdeforet.fr is a participatory citizen platform dedicated to monitoring and reporting forest fires in France.

Our mission is to enable everyone to report a fire, view current alerts in real time, and receive notifications based on their location.

A citizens’ and voluntary organisations’ initiative

The project is run by the association FOREST FIRES, under the 1901 Act, established with the aim of contributing to risk prevention, early warning and community engagement during periods of extreme heat or fire risk.

Our network is built on collaboration between members of the public, local observers, local authorities and the local media. Together, we believe that sharing information can save forests, property and, in some cases, lives.

What does the website offer?

  • A map showing fire alerts, updated in real time
  • A simple form for reporting a fire or a fire breaking out
  • A community-based moderation system (votes, approvals, false alerts)
  • A system for local notifications (via email, browser or app)
  • Prevention and information resources on fire risks

Our values

  • ✨ Transparency : reports are public, time-stamped and moderated
  • 📈 Responsiveness : every minute counts in the event of an alert
  • 🤝 Participation : anyone can contribute
  • 🌳 Protection : the forest, wildlife, people

Who are we?

The organisation is made up of volunteers, engineers, campaigners, communications professionals and local residents committed to protecting our local areas.

We are all affected by the rise in the number of fires and their impact on our environment. That is why feuxdeforet.fr is a free, openly accessible tool with no commercial purpose.
