A major fire has been burning since midday between the towns of Mirabeau and Pertuis in the Vaucluse department (84). At 3 pm, more than 250 hectares of pine forest had been burnt, and the fire remains very intense as it spreads towards the Bouches-du-Rhône (13). The A51 motorway is currently closed to traffic in this area. More than 200 firefighters are currently deployed, along with numerous aerial resources (2 Trackers and 4 Canadairs), to combat the rapid spread of the flames caused by strong winds in the area.
At 8.00 pm, 650 hectares of vegetation had been burnt and more than 500 firefighters were deployed to the scene of the fire, which remains intense.
