Martigues (13)

A major pine forest fire is currently burning near the town of Martigues (13) in the Bouches-du-Rhône department. The fire is reportedly spreading rapidly due to strong mistral winds in the area and is said to be heading towards an industrial estate. It is also reported to have crossed the A55 motorway. Update at 00:30: The fire is now reported to be under control and is being extinguished by the fire service. The area burnt is estimated at around 5 hectares of vegetation.
