Davejean (11)

A fire has been reported near the town of Davejean (11) in the Aude department. One Dash aircraft and four Canadair aircraft have been deployed to the scene of this pine forest fire to assist the numerous ground-based resources already mobilised to prevent the flames from spreading. Update at 8.15 pm: More than 40 hectares of vegetation are reported to have already been burnt, and the fire is not yet under control. Reinforcements have been requested to tackle this blaze. Update at 9.45 pm: The pine forest fire is now reported to be under control and is being extinguished by the firefighters on the scene. The latest official estimate of the area burnt remains at around 40 hectares of vegetation. For your safety, please avoid the area.
