Pietracorbara / Sisco (2B)

A particularly fierce scrubland fire has been burning since Thursday on Cap Corse, specifically between the towns of Pietracorbara and Sisco (2B) in the Haute-Corse department. The area burnt is currently estimated at over 1,500 hectares of vegetation, and around 700 people have been evacuated from their homes. The fire is still spreading unchecked in the middle of the night, with the flames advancing rapidly due to the strong winds in the area. Several roads have also been closed to traffic, and 230 firefighters remain on duty to combat the spread of the fire. For your safety, please avoid the area.
