As the summer season gets underway, firefighters from the Pyrénées-Orientales SDIS have just taken delivery of ten new vehicles to tackle forest fires. This represents an investment of 2.4 million euros.
It was during a press conference on Tuesday morning in Canet-en-Roussillon, that Hermeline Malherbe, Chair of the Board of Directors, and Colonel (Retired) Jean-Pierre Salles-Mazou, Director of SDIS 66, handed over the keys to the various representatives of the emergency services centres concerned.
These ten new vehicles, mounted on chassis Renault and fully equipped by the company Jacinto in Portugal, have just been assigned to the rescue centres in Le Boulou, Vallespir, Thuir, Millas, Vinça, Banyuls-sur-Mer, Céret, Saint-Paul-de-Fenouillet, Saint-Laurent-de-la-Salanque and Salses-le-Château.
