How did your fire service’s social media presence grow in January 2019?

RANKINGS. In January 2019, the French fire service gained nearly 30,000 followers on social media. Taking Facebook, Twitter and Instagram together, the fire and rescue services (SDIS) in the Nord, Yonne and Bouches-du-Rhône departments saw the biggest growth in their communities.

On Instagram, the Doubs fire service leads the way in terms of growth, with 775 new subscribers. As a result, it has climbed six places in the national rankings. The Bouches-du-Rhône SDIS remains well clear at the top of the rankings with over 10,000 subscribers. The SDIS 42 and 88 have each moved up one place, thereby pushing the SDIS 29 and 46 down the rankings.

On Facebook, the ranking of the top ten SISs in terms of the number of subscribers remains unchanged. The SDIS 59 remains in third place, behind the Var (83) and the Bouches-du-Rhône (13), but has recorded an increase of nearly 2,000 subscribers, thereby narrowing the gap with the SDIS 13. Another notable increase was also seen in the SDIS de l’Yonne (89).

On Twitter, the Alpes-Maritimes fire service, which has seen the biggest increase with 126 new followers, has entered the Top 10 most-followed regional fire and rescue services (SIS). It has thus taken the place of the Oise SDIS in 10th position. The SDIS 34 tweeted the most, alongside the Pas-de-Calais, the Loire and the Haute-Vienne.
