Two fires have been reported on either side of the town of Vauvert in the Gard department.
For your own safety and to make it easier for the emergency services to reach the area, please avoid the area.
Several fire brigade vehicles are at the scene, along with four Canadair water-bombing aircraft

16.45 – Request for out-of-departmental reinforcements; a Forest Fire Response Team from SDIS13 is being assembled
5.00 pm – The SDIS13’s GIFF has arrived in the Gard, along with several Canadair water-bombing aircraft and a Dash aircraft from the Civil Protection Service
6.20 pm – A house has been destroyed by fire
19:41 – 35 hectares burnt; a unit from the Marseille Naval Fire Brigade is on its way
7.55 pm – A housing estate comprising 50 homes is under threat; evacuation is currently underway
9.17 pm – 50 hectares burnt; one house and one shed burnt down
