A fire has been raging since around 6.30 pm in the commune of Cébazan in the Hérault department.

The Hérault fire service is being supported by reinforcements from outside the department and water-bombing aircraft from the Civil Protection service.

11.26 am: Fire brought under control but not yet extinguished. At the height of the fire, 11 GIFF units, reinforced by two out-of-county columns – totalling more than 250 firefighters – were deployed, supported by three Air Tractors, six Canadairs, two Trackers and one Dash.

8.13 pm: Three Forest Fire Units have been called in as reinforcements.

7.15 pm: A Dash-8 is in the area and is requesting additional resources to tackle a fire that is spreading unchecked, with several dozen hectares under threat. The fire has spread across 10 hectares.

6.50 pm: 5 hectares burnt, 7 fire crews, several aerial resources deployed

6.39 pm: Report of a fire breaking out. A pine forest fire that has spread across 3 hectares.
