A forest fire is currently burning at a place known as the Domaine de la Salade, on the road from Saint Jean de Cucules to St Mathieu de Tréviers. At least 1 hectare of pine forest is reported to have already been burnt; around thirty firefighters are on the scene, equivalent to two response teams.
Update at 10.45 am on 10 April: the fire has now been extinguished; it mobilised nearly 80 firefighters and burnt 2 hectares of pine trees.
Update 6.10 pm: the fire is spreading rapidly; a third firefighting unit has been called in as backup.
