A fire has been reported in the municipality of Santo Pietro di Tenda, in the Haute-Corse department.

Two fires broke out in Santo Pietro di Tenda early on Monday 1 August. The flames are in an area inaccessible to fire engines and started to the west of the Salti mill.

Among the resources deployed are two water-bombing helicopters – the Morane 2B and the Puma 20 – and two Pélican aircraft. Forest fire-fighters have also been dispatched to the scene.

"No human lives at stake"

According to France 3 Viastella, "Following the various water drops, to prevent the flames from spreading to the upper storeys, around thirty firefighters will be airlifted to the scene". "These are two separate blazes. There are no human lives at stake; only environmental concerns.", the Haute-Corse Fire and Rescue Service (Sis 2B) told France 3.
