This weekend, a full-scale exercise was organised between the SDIS 08 fire service and the Dinaphi emergency services in Belgium. The aim of this exercise was to coordinate operations between the various teams in the event of aforest fire.

At the scene, a GIFF unit from SDIS 08 (Forest Fire Intervention Group) was present, along with six forest fire engines from Dinaphi. Two water-bombing helicopters were also deployed.

The exercise took place under very realistic conditions, with a scenario involving an ongoing forest fire. Both teams managed to work in a coordinated manner despite differences in the procedures and equipment used.

Thanks to this exercise, firefighters from SDIS 08 and the Dinaphi emergency services area were able to strengthen their ties and improve their response capabilities in the event of a forest fire. They were also able to share their respective experiences and refine their practices to better protect local communities and forests.
