Forest fire in Les Pennes-Mirabeau (13): what we know this evening

A fire has been reported in the town of Les Pennes-Mirabeau (13).

For your own safety, please avoid the area and ensure that the emergency services can gain access.

11.00 pm - Marine firefighters and land-based firefighters are dousing the fire. A night-time watch will be organised to prevent the fire from reigniting.

9.00 pm - The fire has now been brought under control; it is thought to have spread across between 15 and 20 hectares.

7.30 pm - The fire has still not been brought under control. The Marseille Maritime Fire Brigade is on the scene, along with crews from SDIS 13. Around 200 hectares of vegetation are directly threatened by the fire.

5.30 pm - The fire is still spreading, but its intensity is decreasing. No figure for the area affected has been released as yet.

5.10 pm - The SDIS 12/48 reinforcement unit deployed to this major fire.

4.55 pm - Fire and rescue services are on the scene, along with departmental and national aerial resources. The fire is spreading.
