A forest fire in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence region has injured three firefighters and destroyed eight hectares. The operation The rapid response of the emergency services helped to minimise the damage.
In the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, a fire broke out on 5 April 2024 in Saint-Benoît, near Entrevaux. The incident required the deployment of significant resources from the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis04), supported by reinforcements from the Alpes-Maritimes (Sdis06).

In total, around 50 firefighters and 13 fire engines were deployed. Despite the rugged terrain, which resulted in minor injuries to three firefighters, the fire was brought under control by the end of the day.
The teams on the ground managed to limit the spread of the flames to eight hectares. This swift and effective response prevented more extensive damage to the surrounding forest.
