A major fire has been reported in the commune of Besse-sur-Issole, in the La Coste area, in the Var department (83).

9.30 pm: The fire has now been brought under control; it is estimated to have burnt through around 6 hectares of vegetation. Fire-suppression operations are currently underway.
5.00 pm: Active fire; 3 hectares of vegetation burnt. Four Canadair aircraft and two Dash-8s are at the scene, in addition to three HBE aircraft, one of which is a heavy-lift aircraft.
4.00 pm: A Civil Protection Dash-8 arrives
3.50 pm: Report of a fire breaking out in the Coste area of the town of Besse-sur-Issole.
