A fire is currently burning at the Canjuers military camp, in the area known as La Montagne du Malay in the municipality of Mons, in the Var department (83).
The military and county fire brigades are on the scene.

Friday 16 August: The fire has been brought under control; 21 hectares have been covered. Around a hundred firefighters, assisted by three HBE and two ABE units, are on the scene
5.00 pm: Around a hundred firefighters are at the scene battling the blaze, which has spread across 17 hectares of vegetation. Two Dash-8s and three HBE aircraft are on site.
4.00 pm: Fire still active, 5 hectares burnt. One Dash and three HBE vehicles are on site
2.30 pm: Around 4 hectares of vegetation burnt; the fire was not particularly intense. An HBE is on site
