This trust is a source of immense pride, but above all it reminds us of the scale of the events our country is currently facing.
In the wake of these unprecedented wildfires, our thoughts go out in particular to all those who are fighting tirelessly, day and night, on the firefronts across France. This marathon, which will continue for many days yet, is keeping firefighters, pilots and aircraft mechanics, forest rangers, volunteers, mobilised personnel and all those working to protect people, property and natural areas constantly on their toes.
Our thoughts are also with all those who have been evacuated, the residents who have lost their homes, the holidaymakers who were simply looking forward to enjoying their stay, the businesses, farmers and livestock breeders who have been severely affected, as well as the natural environment, which will take many years to recover from this disaster.
A huge well done to the local councils, departmental authorities, prefectures, fire and rescue services (SDIS), law enforcement agencies and the many organisations which, each in their own field, are helping to manage these crises and support the local population.
During this exceptional period, fewer than 10 volunteers from Feux de Forêt took turns working day and night to process more than 20,000 data entries, analyse the reports received and, as far as possible, official information issued by prefectures, town halls and the SDIS to keep you informed in real time.
